Every engagement opens with the SCI, a generational assessment of how much genuine care is present in a place, and whether it will endure. We return to it annually, because care that is not maintained compounds in reverse.
How fully a place engages all five senses in service of genuine care.
Whether a place is building something that will endure, or consuming what it finds.
Whether a destination owns and protects its identity, or is being extracted.
Whether investment creates durable prosperity for those within a community, or redistributes wealth outward.
The extent to which a place actively upholds every person's sovereign right to feel safe and held.
The Sensory Care Audit. The field instrument behind the first score. A structured reading of a place through sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch, conducted on the ground and recorded against the Five Senses Framework.
The Anti-Extraction Standard. The test we apply to partnerships, development, and revenue models. It asks whether value stays within a place across a full generational cycle, and it is the reason the most important counsel we offer is sometimes the counsel to slow down.
